COREX 2.0 vs COREX 3.0 Pods - What's the Difference?

Vaporesso runs two mesh generations on the XROS platform side by side.

COREX 2.0 is the original mesh family these pods sit in - a warmer, denser vape that wicks at a steady pace and leans into rich flavour.

COREX 3.0 pods are the newer generation, with a Hive Mesh honeycomb layout aimed at faster wicking, slightly cooler draws and longer pod life on heavier-VG juices.

You will sometimes see these searched as "corex 2 vs corex 3" without the .0 - it refers to the same two pod families.

The critical fact: both COREX 2.0 and COREX 3.0 pods physically fit every current XROS kit.

Same magnetic connector, same chassis cradle, same pod shell.

The 2.0 vs 3.0 distinction is the coil technology inside the pod, not pod compatibility.

Customer choice = coil generation, not kit fit.

In flavour terms, COREX 2.0 tends to read warmer and slightly more concentrated, which is why fruit menthols, tobacco blends and dessert nic salts often taste closer to the bar-style hit that newer vapers are used to.

Resistance Options

The Vaporesso XROS COREX 2.0 pods come in five resistances. Each one is tuned to a specific draw style and e-liquid type, so the resistance you pick is what changes your vape - not the kit.

The 0.8 ohm and 1.0 ohm are the most popular choices for mouth-to-lung nic salts. The 0.6 ohm is the all-rounder for users who want a slightly looser MTL or a tight RDL on lower-strength salts or 50/50 freebase.

The 0.4 ohm is the only true restricted DL option in the range.

If you are switching from a prefilled pod vape and looking for a cigarette-like draw, the 1.0 ohm or 1.2 ohm with 20mg salts is the closest match.

If you have been vaping for a while and want a fuller cloud without going to a full sub-ohm kit, the 0.4 ohm with a 3mg or 6mg freebase is the loosest the XROS platform will run.

The older original XROS, XROS 2 and XROS 3 also accept these pods.

Those legacy kits cap at 16W to 18W and so cannot push the 0.4 ohm to its full wattage range - stick to 0.6 ohm and above for the best experience on the older devices.

How to Refill the COREX 2.0 Pod

Refilling is side-fill via a silicone plug. Lift the small silicone tab on the side of the pod with a fingernail - it is hinged on one edge, so it folds out rather than detaching. You will see the fill port underneath, with a maximum fill line moulded into the pod body just below the rim.

Insert your e-liquid bottle nozzle into the port and fill slowly, stopping before the liquid reaches the very top.

Filling all the way to the brim can trap air below the coil and cause early gurgling.

The 2ml capacity is regulatory-set and the moulded line is your reference - if you can see clear liquid right up to the rim, you have gone slightly past it.

Press the silicone plug firmly back into place so it sits flush with the pod body, then leave the pod standing upright for 3 to 5 minutes before the first puff.

This prime time lets the COREX 2.0 mesh fully saturate.

Skipping prime is the most common cause of a burnt first draw on a brand new pod, and it cannot be undone once the coil has scorched.
